Insurance overview
No two homes are the same, so neither is our approach to protecting them.
That's why our home insurance provides cover for what matters most, as standard.
We consider it our job to help you to make sure that your house and most valuable possessions are protected.
So, whether you live in a town house, a listed building or a thatched cottage, we’ve got you covered.
What's covered:
- Alternative accommodation for you, your family, and domestic pets, if your home can't be lived in as a result of insured damage.
- Replacement of the locks for outside doors or safes and the cost to replace the keys to your alarm system, if your keys are lost or stolen.
- Contents kept in your garden.
- Theft from outbuildings.
- Replacement of your contents new for old, if they’re damaged beyond repair.
- Optional home emergency cover, up to £1,000 per claim*.
What's not covered:
- Any excess, which is the amount you’ll need to pay towards a claim. Your policy documents will outline where these apply.
- Damage or loss caused by lack of general maintenance, wear and tear, and loss of value over time.
- Accidental damage (except fixed glass, ceramic hobs or sanitary ware which is covered under buildings insurance and home entertainment equipment which is covered under contents insurance). Accidental damage can be covered for an additional premium.
*Home emergency cover is administered by ARAG plc on behalf of NFU Mutual.
The features and exclusions listed are not exhaustive. Your cover will depend on your circumstances. Limits and exclusions apply.
