Social, domestic and pleasure only (SDP)
This is for when you use the vehicle for your own personal use which is unrelated to your business, trade or profession, for example taking your children to school, visiting family or going to the shops.
SDP and Commuting (SDPC)
This includes the above and the use of your vehicle to drive the whole or part of the journey to and from your usual place of work.
SDPC and Business Use
This is SDPC usage plus the use of your vehicle for your business, trade or profession, or for the business of your employer, for example taking money to the bank for your employer or delivery of products for your employer using your own vehicle.
This is the total number of miles you expect the vehicle to be driven, as part of the type of usage you have selected, in the next 12 months by all drivers named on the policy.
If you leave the car in different places on various nights of the week, please choose where the car is kept most often.
Your occupation can influence how much you pay for your insurance, as some occupations are riskier than others.
Start by entering the first few letters of your job title. We use an extensive list of occupations, however if you can't find your's please pick the option that best describes your role.
We're looking for the number of full years since you passed your practical driving test, for example if you passed your test 4 years and 11 months ago you should select '4 years'.
If you are a provisional licence holder, please select the number of full years you've held your provisional licence.
On a UK photo licence, you can find the 'valid from' date in section 10 on the back of your licence.
We'd like to know how many claims you have made where you have been at fault or where you haven't but you were unable to claim costs from another party, e.g. your car was hit while parked and the other driver couldn't be found.
Our standard compulsory excess for accidental damage claims varies depending on the driver's age and the vehicle's performance and will be a minimum of £100. When you speak to us we can outline all of the excesses that would apply.
What is No Claims Discount protection?
Some insurers allow you to pay an additional premium in order to protect your No Claims Discount, meaning that should you make a fault claim your existing No Claims Discount won't be affected.
We'll take the details of the first additional driver you would like on the policy. If you would like to have more than one additional driver on the policy we'll take their details when we speak to you.
