Personal Cyber cover through NFU Mutual Bespoke Home Insurance gives you peace of mind. With dedicated support and cover up to £50,000 a year should you fall victim to cybercrime, plus access to a free 24/7 Cyber Assistance Helpline.
The Cyber Assistance Helpline experts can assist with all types of issues, from general queries to offering immediate resolution support in the event of a cyber attack.
What's covered - up to £50,000 towards:
- Restoration and replacement costs following a cyber attack.
- Retrieval of your computer data where possible, including downloaded digital music, digital photographs and digital video.
- Expenses and ransom monies as a result of ransomware and cyber extortion.
- Costs and services incurred due to actual or suspected identity theft.
- Lost money, costs and charges incurred following credit card fraud or a phishing attack.
- Restoration of smart devices and wearables if they're affected by a cyber attack.
What's not covered:
- Re-purchase of software, software licenses, programmes, digital photographs, music or videos.
- Cyber extortion or ransom monies paid without consultation with our Cyber Assistance Helpline.
- Costs incurred as a result of identity theft to a business that is associated with you.
- Any costs that are reimbursable by your credit card company, bank or other financial institution.
- Cover of connected home device where the default or original password has not been changed.
The NFU Mutual Bespoke Cyber Assistance Helpline is administered by CyberScout and provides 24/7 access 363 days a year, closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
A £200 excess applies for all areas of cover except Identity Theft which carries no excess. You must have anti-virus software installed on your computer system.

If you have an NFU Mutual Bespoke Home Insurance policy and have Personal Cyber detailed in your schedule, your Personal Cyber cover provides up to £50,000 per incident or per period of cover, whichever is first.
It offers cover for the following five cyber risks:
Cyber Attack – If you fall victim to a cyber attack, we’ll cover the costs to restore or replace your computer system and retrieve your personal digital assets, such as music, photographs and video.
Ransomware - Reasonable and necessary extortion expenses and ransom monies demanded as a result of ransomware and cyber extortion.
Identity theft – Costs and services incurred as a result of actual or suspected identity theft.
Cybercrime – Lost money as well as costs and charges incurred following credit card fraud or a phishing attack.
Smart devices and wearables – The costs of restoring your smart devices and wearables, should they become corrupted, damaged or altered by a cyber attack.
In addition, you’ve got 24/7 access* to the NFU Mutual Bespoke Cyber Assistance Helpline administered by CyberScout.

Personal Cyber is now an embedded cover as part of our NFU Mutual Bespoke Home Insurance policy, and as such, cannot be removed from the policy. It’s all part of our commitment to protect you, your home and your family right down to the finest detail.

No. This policy only provides cover for items owned by you.
No. Personal Cyber will only cover incidents occuring whilst the equipment is being used for a personal capacity.
Personal Cyber cover only provides cover whilst the device is being used in a personal capacity. You should check with your employer as to what cover you have.
Yes, this is known as social engineering, and we’ll cover instances where you are tricked through electronic means into transferring money to a fraudster or revealing your passwords to them.
- The cyber incident, identity theft, credit card fraud, or phishing attempt must be discovered by you during the period of cover.
- You must back up original data from your computer system at least every 30 days.
- You must change the passwords on your computer system or smart device from the default password.
- You must have anti-virus software installed on your computer system.
- You must speak to the Cyber Assistance Helpline before reporting a claim.
